BAS (Business Automation Software) was positioned as a Ukrainian replacement for 1C, but technically it runs the same 1C:Enterprise engine. In 2023 its developer was added to Ukraine's sanctions lists, making the product a legal, reputational and technical risk: without updates and official support the system degrades.
Business Central is Microsoft's global cloud ERP with EU data centres. Functionally it covers everything BAS did — accounting, warehouse, purchasing, sales and manufacturing — and adds what BAS never had: native Power BI analytics, AI Copilot and Microsoft 365 integration.

How is Business Central better than our current system?
Vendor-delivered updates that do not break customisations, native integration with Excel, Outlook, Teams and Power BI, access from any device, and no dependence on a single developer.
How long does the move take?
From 8 to 16 weeks including data migration. The longest stage is master data preparation, performed mainly by your team.
Can we run both systems in parallel?
A short parallel period for reconciliation is fine, but maintaining full double bookkeeping for long is not advisable: it doubles the workload and creates discrepancies.
What happens to reporting during the transition?
The move is planned for the start of an accounting period, so the previous period closes in the old system and the new one begins in Business Central.
